It crashed yesterday while watching Mission Impossible (II or III - I can’t remember) and I was treated to the horrible “PLEX” singing addition after the app restarted - thanks for that horrible new audio snippit, by the way. Who OK’d that feature addition? LOL
The crash is just immediate. It doesn’t hang or anything. The movie dies, and I see the PLEX logo again. Memory leak maybe?
The client crashes at least once daily if we’re watching a lot of TV or movies (like on the weekends). If just watching a half dozen shows a day, it’ll crash every 2-3 days. After the crash, it’s fine for a while with the same media. Once in a while, restarting plex won’t be enough and I’ll have to reboot the fireTV stick, but this is only a couple-times-a-month issue.
Other issues: While navigating the tv “season” carousel, when selecting an episode, it’ll reset the interface and un-select the episode for me. Or when I select an episode but not play it, just ‘hover’ over it, the UI will ‘reset’ and it’ll move my curser back somewhere else in the UI. I can make a video of this behavior for you if you’d like. It’s VERY annoying.
Running the plex server on an Ubuntu server in my basement. Connection is Wifi. Nothing too weird on my network or FireTV stick configs. No VPNs, no hacked devices, etc.
In PLEX on the Fire-TV stick, I have “Send crash reports” as “on”.
I turned on “Network Logging”, but it turns itself off after a few minutes I found.
I tried going to the FireTV stick’s logging service: (http://IP_ADDRESS:9080/logging) and it just says “status=ok” on the page. Nothing else. Sorry.
I’d rather not spend several days on this back-and-forth, so if there’s anything more that I can do now, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
