Creating intros - hardware acceleration

Hey,

I noticed that whenever my Plex server is creating intros for new TV show episodes, it doesn’t seem to utilize hardware accelerated encoding. My CPU cores go to 100%. While not a big deal, I am wondering why that is, given that hardware accelerated encoding is used everywhere else on the platform (transcoding etc.).

Cheers

intro detection is based on audio… there’s no video processing involved.

Do you mean the Skip TV Show Intro detection?

The process analyzes the audio of each episode looking for common patterns.

Audio analysis uses the CPU, not the GPU.
