I’m a metalhead, I primarily listen to (obviously) metal, rock, classical, and some soundtracks. The playlists that are thrust upon me by Plex (through Tidal) are very far off from what I normally listen to - which isn’t a good thing… I have absolutely no way to curate it in either Plex or Tidal and all of my Tidal playlists generated or created - all actually suite my tastes…
I like using Tidal but I hate using it through Plex… it needs a LOT of work. I would love to be able to use this through Plex, but it just feels janky as Hell. Ideally, I should never have to visit the Tidal site to do anything, it should all be able to be done through Plex… since it has a partnership and all.
Sorry if I’m salty, it’s early here and this has been driving me nuts for a while now.
Do you have a personal, local music library on your Plex server? If you do, and it is primarily filled with music of your taste, I recommend you to use that as a starting point.
Then only use Tidal to bolster this collection. The best way to do that is to use Plexamp and its automatic Radios which do also include Tidal tracks.
I removed all of my personal media in favor of using Tidal. It was getting to be a pain to manage it all. So I only have Music(Tidal) pinned, and I’ve deleted my personal music library.
I did try creating a personal music library afterwards to try it with no local media and adding my Tidal artists to Plex, but that quickly became a nightmare so I reverted back to just using the Tidal integrated library.
