Custom server access url set up

Server Version#:1.19.4.2935
Player Version#:8.1.2.18135

I am trying to make my server accessible remotely by using the Custom server access URL in network settings. Due to having 2 network cards, I need plex to run off the secondary one, but remote access defaults to the primary which is behind CGNAT, so I cant open the port.

If I enter http://external IP:32400, it works absolutely fine. I get a green padlock on all remote devices. However, if I change that to http://DDNS domain name:32400 it changes to an indirect connection.

I am doing some thing wrong but I can’t understand what. Big thanks for any help.

AFAIR you need to have a publicly trusted (i.e. not self-signed) cryptographic certificate for your custom domain name.

And you can even use the free provided wildcard plex.direct certificate with your secondary IP address and custom server access URL. This will work if you don’t have a trusted certificate for your DDNS url.
