I had to delete the Dash app and reinstall it. The app lets me log in and under Settings it lists my username, but won’t see my server. It just says ??? Next to “server”. Everything else is working fine. Am I missing something? I have an iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 15. Thanks.
I’m not an iOS user but pretty sure since ios14 you need to allow apps Local Network Access to see devices on local network
Same issue here. Same phone an OS.
I’m having the same issue with the Android version of Plex Dash. Plex and Plex Amp apps are both working fine.
Same issue. iPhone X, iOS 15.
Same issue here.
I brought a new phone (both new and old are Android), and logged in with the same issue.
Reinstalled the app (instead of using the transferred copy).
I also tried updating both my Synology NAS and Plex Media Server.
Made sure permissions and port forwarding was still in place.
Then I tested one thing… I logged out of Plex Dash on my old phone (which still worked), but when I logged back in… Sever shows “???”
Anybody else got any ideas?
Same issue here, Android 11 phone, Plex server Version 4.66.1.
I’m also on the same boat. iPhone X, iOS 15
Same issue using android phone
Same here on Android.
Same issue here. Media plays fine, but the Server field in the settings of the Plex Dash app shows “???” and there’s no media or library info showing on any of the tabs. They are all blank.
Plex Dash v. 1.0.1 on a Pixel 4a running Android v. 11
Plex server v. 1.24.3.5033 with Plex Web v. 4.63.0 on a QNAP TS-453Be running QTS 4.5.4.1800
Background:
The first issue I noticed was on September 30th when I couldn’t scan my media in the Plex Dash app. It just showed 0% and wouldn’t progress. I could scan the media fine via the Plex web interface. At this point the Server field still showed the proper server name, and my library and old media was showing. Just not any new media.
I cleared the cache and storage on the Plex Dash app, and so I had to log in and authenticate again. At this point this issue began.
Also, we are not alone:
Same here. iOS 15. the app doesn’t. even seem to have an option to ALLOW local
network access. it doesn’t seem to request it at all.
The app doesn’t seem to REQUEST permission to allow local network access.
I certainly wasn’t prompted, and can’t see it in Settings → Privacy → Local Network:
@klue17 I did notice that but the issue also exists on Android which does not have such a setting, so I think it not requesting local access is a symptom, not the cause of the issue.
Same issue here on iPhone 12 and new iPad, both running IOS 15.1 Public beta 2… App was running fine on iPhone 12. Got a new iPad, installed Plex Dash app and signed into my Plex account. Was able to sign in but Plex Dash was unable to find my local media server (shows ?? as server name). Was still working fine on my iPhone 12 so tried a test. Signed out of my Plex account and then signed back in. Now my iPhone can’t find my media server either.
Any movement on this? Just started happening to me as well. IPhone 12 mini on iOS 15. Plex Dash no longer detects my server. All other instances of Plex work normally.
Another broken android over here. Had to move to an emergency phone (android 8.1.0) as main device requires battery surgery, dash app not working, same symptoms as everyone else… I have 2 servers, neither of them are working with dash app. Official docker on rpi4 and a Windows 10 install. Both servers running latest versions (updated last night)
Dash stopped working on android for me today. Tried clearing cache & data and signing in again but dash no longer finds my server. Also tried full server restart.
When going to settings on the dash app the server is reported as ???.
I bet all the cert rubbish from the plex this week has messed up dash. Now will plex even fix it, let’s see!
Pixel 4a here, Dash was working fine until Wednesday. I had it working, and then I (intentionally) nuked my Plex server in Portainer. When I brought it back up, everything Plex-related was working fine, except for Dash. I’ve done all the troubleshooting I can think of, rebooting my clearing app cache/data, enabling all permissions (why does Dash need a phone permission??), reinstalling the app, etc. Still not working.
Been troubleshooting this for a little this morning.
Not seeing any errors in the server logs when dash tries to connect to the plex server. It almost looks like dash cannot see the plex server anymore.
If I was to speculate I’d suggesting that dash itself is now broken with the cert changes plex implemented this week. We will likely need an update to dash to get it working again.
To reproduce its very easy. Uninstall dash and install it again forcing it to reconnect. This will be break it.
