Dashboard Feedback

While it’s cool you guys added it in, it’s lacks a lot of the administrative control that I feel you get in tautulli. Overall it doesn’t feel feature complete.

Show what is currently recording on the DVR along with the channel and the library it is recording to. Currently you can only see the show name of what is recording if you click on the activity button in the upper right.

I would like a way remotely restart pms.

Also a way to remotely upgrade on Linux, like how windows can.

This definitely

I’ve been thinking about this and I have some things I’d like to add to the wish list.

This first is not a huge one but it’s something simple I’ve come to like with Tautulli. Can we get the ability to “nickname” the accounts that we are sharing with? This way, on the dashboard instead of seeing shark2k for the display name I could have it say “Me” or for my brother’s account I would have it say his name instead of his username. It’s a small thing but when some users have usernames/email address that don’t quickly identify them (or are long email addresses for instance) it gives a nicer look.

The second (and this might be more involved) but could we get some information on what has been synced from our server? To start I was thinking the current items that have been synced and the status (converted, downloaded/not downloaded and user obviously). Long term (which might require an update to the database to keep this info as I’m not sure it’s there but I could be wrong) would be to see a history of what was synced for a user even if they have since deleted the sync.

The third thing I’ve thought of would be to see the progress of the transcode. This might seem pointless but it’s something that Tautulli has and it’s neat to see how far the transcoder process is compared to where the person is in the viewing.

I also agree with the requests in this thread to get have more detail available about why something is transcoding. For instance, sometimes it’s obvious (for instance 1080p to 720p, but when you see 1080p -> 1080p it would be nice to know why). In that last example, Tautulli shows some more information like it’s going from mkv -> mpegts.

Last thing I just thought of and I’m not sure how feasible/difficult this would be (and I think it might have sort of been mentioned in this thread) is the way the view history works. I understand the reason it currently works the way it does but if a show/series/movie is marked as played and not actually played that kind of messes up the stats (for instance if I wanted to mark all the movies in my library that I have seen before putting them into my library, that counts as a play for the movie but it wasn’t actually played). Again in Tautulli (and sorry to keep using that but it is done really well) an item is only considered played if it is actually watched (and for at least x amount of seconds, user defineable). That makes sense for Tautulli because it works off the actual playback of the media but considering when media is added to the library and Tautulli shows that information, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a way they could actually get the “watch” history similar to Plex but I don’t think they would.

The last one would just be nice to have a more accurate count of what was actually played and not just marked play. One thought I just had would be maybe add a field to the table that handles views (I can’t remember exactly how it’s structured so this might not work) that is tracks whether the view came from being marked as play. If it’s marked as played it would be yes/1/on/true (whatever value is used) and if it was actually watched it would be no/0/off/false. Then the play history could allow to filter on that so you can see what was actually played vs what was just marked as played or even just exclude anything that is marked as play.

Alright, so those are some of my ideas (sorry for that being as long as it is, didn’t plan on that).

I would like to at least have the option to force the default view in the navigation menu on left to full server. I really do not like the default to pinned, nor the fact it minimizes.

I really do like it that it can…
