Have Romote Access settings of:
Internet upload speed: 6 Mbps
Limited remote bitrate stream: 2 Mbps (480p)
Watching the dashboard with one remote access viewing it shows peaks of up to 5 Mbps.
It looks like an EKG graph with regular peaks.
Why the higher spikes overs the set limit on streams?
The bandwidth limit is not “traffic shaping”. It only sets a target bitrate for the transcoder.
It is perfectly normal that there are spikes. But if you integrate the data volume over time (particularly after the first 3 minutes) you will get pretty close to the defined limit.
Got it… So is the other setting then going to do a bandwidth cap so if there are more than one person streaming it it will not spike over 6 ?
I actually haven’t tested this scenario yet. There might be spikes over as well. But the integrated bandwidth will be still 6 mbps.
