Hello! In addition to my regular TV and movies library, I have a rather large (4000+ videos) collection of pro wrestling videos in my Plex library. They are in their own library where I have always had each show organized by date. I made the files date based rather than episode# because I’m always adding older videos to the collection, so it seemed easier to keep things in order that way. For example (and I’m making up dates here):
/Wrestling
/WWE
/Season 2000
2000-01-01 - WWE Raw.mp4
2000-01-02 - WWE Smackdown.mp4
2000-01-03 - Wrestlemania.mp4
/WCW
/Season 2001
2000-01-01 - WCW Nitro.mp4
2000-01-02 - WCW Thunder.mp4
I use the Personal Media Agent and have Plex getting the metadata from my embedded tags, which has been working pretty well. I have had this set up for a couple years with no problem. However, all of a sudden over the last couple weeks, the episode dates in Plex have changed even though the filenames and embedded tags have not. For example, a file named 1995-07-28 - ECW, is still in Plex under the ECW series, and the 1995 season, but the date is shown and sorted in Plex as 12/24/2009. Moving some files, moving them back, forcing Plex to rescan has fixed some, but then all of sudden ones that were fixed change back to these incorrect dates again.
Without deleting the entire library and starting over, or manually fixing and locking each date, is there some other way to get Plex to see the correct dates? Or has anyone had this happen before and even know where these dates are coming from? At first, I thought they might be the dates the files were created, but I checked a few and that’s not it.
If I HAVE to delete the library and start over, I guess I can do that. If that’s the only solution though, does anyone know how to export TV Season images? I added images to a lot of the seasons in Plex (next time, I’ll just add them to the folder so they’ll always be there), and I don’t want to have to go find these pictures again. I do have the ExportTools channel installed, but I tried it on level 666 before and it seemed to only get series and episode images, not seasons, unless I’m missing something.
Thanks!
