Ok, so here’s a behavior I just noticed associated with this (still ongoing!) wrong date issue. I just loaded up the web interface, and saw that my local news program still had the wrong date - it’s from last night (which should be 8/16/22), it showed 8/15/22. (this is on the “home continue watching” page.)
I clicked on the show, and I saw the UI change from 8/15/22 to 8/14/22 while I was looking at it!!
then I clicked back to the original window and it showed 8/14/22 in the “home continue watching” page!
If it’s helpful I have not clicked on the 11pm news yet, you can see here that it also shows 8/15/22 while the other 2 show 8/14/22 (since I clicked on them)!
Also, if I click on my DVR recordings and check the 1030 news for tonight it shows:
Which looks correct! However, if I click on 1030 news for yesterday it shows that image I posted before with 8/14/22 (should be 8/16/22). So somehow DVR is jumping 2 days!
If I uncheck ‘prefer local metadata’ and then refresh metadata for local news recording, the date changes to one day in future. If I refresh metadata again it stays one day in future.
If I check box for ‘prefer local metadata’ and then refresh metadata for same local news recording, the date goes back one date. If I refresh metadata again, it will go back another date. It will continue to go back one date as long as I keep clicking refresh metadata. So, that shouldn’t be happening…
Before this started, I noticed DVR recordings started off correct at first. But after some time, going back to look, the dates were changed to one day before. Filenames are labeled correctly.

Still continuing to see this wrong date issue in DVR recordings. Currently running 1.29.0.6244 PMS on Windows 10. Anyone else on this thread still having this issue? @anon18523487 any help/info on this issue?
@anon18523487 I was perusing my PMS database tyring to gather more information on this topic using keys and attributes from the xml. I found the originally_available_at column in the metadata_items table contains the displayed data (the annoyingly wrong date) in epoch format. I thought perhaps that would help pinpoint where the issue is. Where does the data inserted in that column in that table come from? Is this a guide data problem?
Still continuing to see this exact behavior in PMS Windows Version 1.30.1.6497. Any one else able to fix this issue? If I don’t click on the episode from the home screen, the date shown stays correct, however the moment I click on the unwatched episode the date goes back a day! Maddening! Help plex team!
@anon18523487 Any further information on a fix for this DVR recording with wrong date issue? Is there a ticket for it for the developers at least? It’s still happening and is annoying and can be confusing at times when looking through the tv recordings. Thanks!
Still happening in Roku plex preview and PMS Version 1.31.2.6739
