Just chiming in that I’m having the same database issue on Unraid. I’ve restored 3 different / older database backups and just get ā€œSqlite3: Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB.ā€ in Unraid logs and ā€œFailed to begin transaction (…/Plugins/PluginDatabaseState.cpp:110) (tries=2): Cannot begin transaction. database is lockedā€ in the console.

Version 1.23.6.4810

Should have them, shout if you need more… FYI, its still ā€œupdating libraryā€ apparently…

Hey folks

The ā€˜fix’ we implemented in the above build does technically work, but takes ages to apply on startup. Thanks for all your logs, they helped us to pinpoint it. The shared databases will help us to test a subsequent fix.

The plan:

  • I’m making a new 1.23.5 / 1.23.6 which should work around the issue. This is the safest approach for ā€˜last thing on a Friday’!
  • On Monday we will dig into the root cause, and come up with a long term solution.

Hold tight, a build should land in this thread within an hour or so (depending on our CI speed!)

Just wanted to add that I’m seeing the exact same behaviour on the Synology NAS version (Intel 64-bit) - hoping the upcoming build we be available for that platform as well.

Can’t wait to give this a try this evening, won’t be able to test it again anytime soon lest the locals try to roast me over an open pit.

I have the same issue. Plex starts for about 1 minute then crashes. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. I appreciate any help!

I downgraded, remover temp files, did a repair in setup, still no fix.

Once I did the downgrade it seems to start up but doesnt play anything. Just the buffer symbol on the screen.

I been running plex for 8 years and never had this problem. I would hate to have to start over again.

It would probably be wise to hang tight for the new build. You don’t want to end up making matters worse by continuing to try things.

Hi, please is this making my crippled Plex instance working again, so we can watch some tonight? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel to today?

Please try this build (backup your database first!)

Yeah… the buggy 1.23.6

Once I get an extra confirmation I’ll roll out the hotfixes.

Tested local and remote and all seems good with no weird errors in the logs. I’m on Windows FYI. Thanks for sorting so quickly, saved a fair few film nights I’m sure!!

I keep getting these errors when I try to start Plex:

Jul 23, 2021 09:34:45.002 [16520] ERROR - SQLITE3:0x6f86d135, 779, index corruption at line 91877 of [1b256d97b5]

I tried doing a repair and that didn’t seem to help. Am I missing something?

That seems like you have a bad database. Do you have an old backup you can restore from?

Fingers crossed. Everything looks good and is functional so far. Thanks for the attention on this one!

Fair point. I had to go back a few weeks but I found a good one. All seems to be well. Thanks for the quick help!

Nothing for Syno at this point though?

Working for me. Win10.
