Default Home User

I really like Plex and plan on using it for years to come, but I am having one small caveat with the desktop application. While it allows me to default my user on my desktop computer, it doesn’t allow the same for other family members. Can this be fixed in a future release? I really don’t understand why family members have to go through an extra step. I don’t think it would be a technical challenge, right? It would also prevent children from attempting to snoop into other “clickable” accounts.
Hope this can be fixed in the next release. Thank you and keep up the good work! Plex is a great product.

When the setting to auto log in skipping pin is enabled it is for all sccounts. Whatever is the last account is used will log in unless someone manually opens the switcher. After a regular account enables it, just open the user switcher and give it to them. When they click their user it will remain logged in as them and they won’t need to click it again

The actual setting is only available on regular accounts with an email and password, not Managed user accounts which are mostly used for children.

After enabling it on just go back to the user switcher.

Say a child enabled the setting, then goes to the user switcher and leave the device alone. You use the device but don’t know the setting is enabled. You close the app put down the device then the child just picks it up opens the app and uses it under your account because you were the last one to use it so it auto logged in as you.

(You should of course have a PIN on your account and any others you don’t want them to switch to)

Thank you for your reply. I was expecting it to work that way, but it didn’t work yesterday after I had activated the switch in my account.

Will ask my wife to re-test it again today and report back.
