Default language!

Hi guys !

Can’t find the solution !
Plex main account is configured by default in FRENCH.
Local users (since I have a PlexPass) are all configured in FRENCH.
Media library is also set as FRENCH.

Can’t guess what I’m doing wrong.
I have to change language each time manually to french :frowning:

Have something to do from my NAS ?

Thanks for helping.

Which part of Plex specifically is reverting away from french?
The user interface of the web app?
If so, make sure that your browser is not throwing away the cookies of the domain plex.direct and plex.tv when you close it.

Thanks for replying. Sorry if my english is not good.
Setting are not reverting. Problem is that: even if parameters are set to “french” movies always start in english.

No browser in my story: using Plex directly fro my Samsung TV app.

Is that better for your understanding ?

go here https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account
and edit the Audio & Subtitle Settings
activate the checkbox and select your preferred audio language

This is a per-user setting.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204985278-account-audio-subtitle-language-settings/

I already have this.
Is that different from what your suggesting?
(asking because your shared screenshot is different from what I get)

This is regarding the impacted user (from desktop)

Have similar parameter on TV

Yes, this is only affecting the language of the user interface of the web app.

Please click on the link I’ve set above.

ok. from computer I have set this :

This works, but only from the computer.

From TV logged user, I can’t find the similar parameters.

Any chance this can be due to samsung plex app ???

Which kind of Plex app is it?
Version number?
Do you have a screenshot?

“Plex for Samsung”
version 3.92.3

This should work with this app.
Is the app perhaps using a different plex account? Different from what you are using in your web browser? Even a different ‘managed user’ is a ‘different user’ and has separate language settings.

I have my main and single account, and 1 account for each one of my 3 sons
The problem is for every one.

Picture sent is the one of my oldest son.

Does it cover your answer ?

Yes, it means that you have made the language selection for yourself, but not for each of your sons.

Go back into the web app.
Use ‘Switch User…’ to “become” each of your sons
and make the language selections for them as well

web_sign_out

I’m already connected to my son account (was the case for my last screen shots)

May I see the Plex media info of a movie which is affected by the issue?

Is that what you asked for ?

(deleted screenshot)

No. I have set a link. Please follow it.
Your screen shot only shows the english audio track.
I want to see if the french audio track is present and whether it is correctly tagged with language information.

Thank you for your patience !!!

Hm, this appears to be in order.

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 2 minutes
  6. Restart the TV and the Plex app on the tv. Play the movie for ~ 1 minute
  7. wait 3 minutes
  8. fetch log files and attach them here

I’m about to finish what you asked for

attachement post is 404 error.
