Random question, but I always thought by default, Plex uses tmdb for movies and tvdb for show metadata unless you change the defaults. However in a reddit thread a former plex employee noted that tmdb is the default for both TV shows and Movies. Is this accurate?
Plex is sourcing and aggregating metadata from different sources. Usually, they prioritize TMDb metadata for tv-show content, but the data you see will probablycome from multiple sources.
While using the Plex Series agent, you can select which episode order you want to apply for your library or individual shows. This will use that repository‘s episode order… it won’t apply the metadata of a particular source/repository.
