Question, why didn’t you use the remote skip forward/back buttons that are readily available for harmony etc for this instead of the direction arrows?
For two reasons. One was that we needed to support four actions (skip forward/backwards 30s/10s and jump forward/backwards 10mins. Second is that we were thinking ahead for future features 
ok, so left/right are 30/10 and up/down is 10 mins? Can’t imagine what features would go on 30/10 skip buttons but ok…
That’s right. Keep in mind that we have to work with the restrictions of what buttons are available to us on both the controller and the Media Remote, and you can see why this was the only way to implement skipping.
Odd that the buttons are available but MS didn’t put them on the remote etc. Anyhow, reprogrammed my harmony so it’s happy
Also seeing a lot of very long pausing even on direct play (MP4 720p h264 with AC3 audio) when 10 minute skip (30 second does it less but still there)
@“John Galt” I was thinking the same thing…kind of odd. I get the pausing too even on 30 second skip.
@moussa.uk Thanks for the explanation…makes sense. Future features crossed my mind. Future features as in…chapter skip! That’s it right?
