When I finished looking at a movie, I usually delete it directly from the client used to look at the movie (most often, plex home theatre on Mac, while the server is also on the same Mac). It deletes the media file, but not the whole folder, leaving all the other unused (logs, subtitles sometimes) files in the original folder... leaving a file structure a bit crowded of nearly empty folders, then.
It would be nice to be able to delete the whole folder containing the movie when I click on 'delete', maybe only if there is no other movie file inside (except if the title includes 'trailer' or 'sample', something like that?)
Even though I agree with you in principle, we see from time to time, that Plex users doesn't follow the naming standard, and have all their movies in a single flat directory named movies.
As such, your suggestion would cause a disaster for them, so no vote from me here
