Derailed topic that turned into GDrive API errors - ON HOLD but likely resolved

I see from one of your other threads you might have solved the non-responsive issues by down grading your PMS version.

So how’s it all working now?

How are your api errors?

Well I haven’t solved the non-responsive issue at all. Here’s my last 12 hours:

I have 5 libraries:

  • Anime Movies
  • Anime Shows
  • Cartoons
  • Movies
  • TV Shows

Anime Movies appears completely scanned indexed and all artwork grabbed. Anime Shows appeared to all be present, 2 shows had no artwork or other metadata. Cartoons was incomplete, no art/data. TV Shows and Movies were empty.

Ah sorry, I think I may have read you other post before you added that you were still having issues.

On a plus point (apart from that spike at 11) at least the errors seem pretty low.

How big are your libraries and are they sill scanning?
(although tbh I find Plex does have a habit of indicating that the scan has finished while there is still a shed load of analysis still going on)

Is there much activity still going on in these 2 log files?

tail -F "Plex Media Scanner.log" "Plex Media Scanner Analysis.log"

For the moment I’ve shut down the plex server. Since even on the older version the UI becomes unresponsive I’ve been taking a look at this from another angle. The library itself should total around 35TB, ~50 anime movies, ~75 anime shows, ~75 cartoons, ~400 tv shows, ~1300 movies.

I’m now investigating running parts of plex from RAM using zramctl to do something like tmpfs. The metadata folder without the movies and TV shows libraries was ~375 MB, my total plex folder consuming about a gig at that point. If I extrapolate based on how far the process seemed to be, I might be able to run plex entirely out of ram.

I know this isn’t related to the GDrive API errors… but honestly… unless someone from the Plex team can prove to me within the next week that this app still has the possibility of being stable, I’m going to be done with it.
