I am running multiple libraries with the same content because I need different meta data languages which can only be done this way.
Current implementation:
When a movie is added to multiple libraries with setting “detect voice activity” enabled, the voice activity detection task is running for each library separately.
Actually the output of the voice activity scan should be independend of a library. So scanning the same movie multiple times has no benefit.
Feature request:
When a new movie is added to libraries, the voice activity scan is done only on time time, regardless of how many libraries with setting “detect voice activity” (minimum 1 library) the movie is being added to.
Ad1: technically the same movie that is contained in two different libraries shares some information already such as the watch status. When I watch 10 minutes of movie in library A. I can see that the movie has been watched 10 minutes in library B as well.
You have two libraries, each set to a different language and that forces Plex to gather Voice Activity data for each library, a set of data for each expected language.
The purpose of Voice Acitivity data is to help align the subtitle text with the speech heard in the video file, especially when you have an incorrect subtitle file for your video, one that does NOT properly align the text and speech.
You can avoid Voice Activity data altogether, as long as you provide subtitle files that have properly aligned text and speech for each of your video files.
Plex is expecting the language for your Movie files to match the language set in the library settings, which is different for each of your libraries.
Again, Plex is expecting the video file language to match the language set for the library.
What would be a better solution to your issue IMHO, would be if it were possible for a user to change the language that the Movie synopsis page is displayed in.
E.G. user A could select language X to display the synopsis page and user B could select language Y, possibly from a drop down menu on the synopsis page.
The only possible issue there would be the poster languages. Some Movies seem to only have English posters for example, but at least the page text could be translated to the users desired language.
That would mean you would only need one library to display what you need it to display.
There is no information that voice detection is depending/expecting on the library language. The FAQ just mentions that the first audio track is analayzed.
