Devastating Plex Home Theater Failure

Running Plex Server on Windows 7 along with Windows Media Center (WMC). Because Plex Home Theater (PHT) integrates so well with WMC we’re still running it (version 1.4.1.469) and it has worked well for us…until recently that is.

Today I launched PHT and every category says “search”. I try entering my Plex credentials and the cursor just spins… no log in and no failure either way. I know PHT is no longer supported, but it’s the best product for the way we use it. I recently updated Plex Server so I rolled it back to a previous version but it did not help.

Plex is working just fine in all other apps, browsers, etc. Just not in PHT.

No Windows updates performed. Did something change to cause Plex to reject PHT connections? Thanx for any help in this matter, as the wife-acceptance-factor is grossly affected.

From what I can tell, the problem stems from the fact that PHT will not sign in to my account. Did Plex make some kind of security change recently?

Yes same here

Try [RELEASE] OpenPHT 1.8.0
instead.

I tried OpenPHT several years ago, but I couldn’t get it to work properly within WMC, so I gave up on it. It also appears to be dormant as there’s been no updates the past few years.

I also tried Plex Media Player when it came out but didn’t get that to work with WMC either.
