What is OpenPHT

Hi guys, I was using HomeTheater for a while until someone told me that this project was over and that I should look at OpenPHT.

I did not find any information about what it is (open source of HomeTheatre, i got this), what are the difference for users with HomeTheatre, is there any article or tutorial on how to set it up, what are the new features compared to the standard Home Theatre etc…

In short, Plex team is not working any more with PHT so no more updates or features. openPHT is the community driven continuation of PHT.

I did not get any notice about this either. However, I just downloaded the Plex app off Windows Store and it is totally different. Is that the one we should be using? I’ve always had issues with PHT anyway.

i dont think you are going to get many people on the openpht forum saying to use the windows store version over openpht

openpht is a superior plex client.

Thanks for your answers, one little question tho, OpenPHT seems to read my 4k videos without buffering but it’s not the case of PlexWebTheatre. I plan to buy a Nvidia Shield, will OpenPHT be available on it ? If no will my 4k still be buffering ?
