Did the update fix anything?

My playlists are still only searching from season 1 or 2

UI hasn’t changed one bit in the slightest?

so what was actually repaired, I didn’t have any playback issues, but yet I admit I did not test it on a battery of different file types, after integrating them with plex I just tend to forget which ones are mkv, mp4, etc, and I don’t use subtitles

Yes I can confirm that the srt subtitle problem seems to be fixed.

Word on the street is that they’re addressing functional/operational issues first and foremost.

I suspect changing the UI is a harder pill to swallow for them, as this whole UI is intended to cross all platforms from what I understand. They would have to reinvent their wheel to address it properly. I imagine lots of meetings happening at Plex HQ about the backlash and how to address it by making as few actual changes as possible.

Release notes for today’s update are available here.

Thank you, sir. Your communications are appreciated.

Stuttering is fixed for me, so it’s usable again and I don’t need to switch to my ATV. That’s a win in my book.

Subtitle problem is partly fixed. If you pause the file subtitles disappear again.

If you play the file without interruption the subtitle seems to stay alive

I was just testing it and for me the subtitles still disappear on their own without pausing.

well for me it caused subtitles to appear in the middle of a english speaking tv program for about 5 minutes

The server update from today (4229) seems to have fixed this!

Glad to see we’re getting updates and some fixes at least. Was worried we’d have to wait a couple more years. Hopefully the mkv issue is next in line since the stuttering problem looks to be solved.

The server update that only Plex Pass get? This split-delivery model drives me nuts. I was perfectly happy on an older server build.

I’ll just close with the word of a generation (not mine funnily enough).
Whatever.

@jungwirth It was just released to public!
