Ever since ‘the update’, playing back a recorded Live TV program has not worked as well at it used to, Lots of ‘whirlygigs’, slow response, almost faster to watch the commercials than skip them. Quite a few “playback Error” messages also.
I may have noticed this. In the timeframe that I was on 1.32.3.7162 I noticed slowness with Plex. (I’m on Linux.) I remember thinking that I wanted to look at my server to see if it was general server slow performance or just Plex, but I was swamped and just didn’t find time. The issues I saw were that it was taking several extra seconds to load on each resume/skip, and once I saw a failure where we were watching a recorded show that froze, then a load circle came up, then it exited back to the show’s Plex episode screen. I’ve never seen that particular issue happen before with Plex.
I haven’t seen these issues the last couple days, and it may have been resolved when I went to the 1.32.4.7164 beta. Unfortunately I wasn’t at all methodical in this case to confirm that the version change was the fix.
I’m using a circa 2017 QNAP TS-251+ with a 6TB RAID 1. I’m also a retired engineer who really can’t afford the $4k+ to upgrade my system. Extremely unfamiliar with Linux, can’t even tell you what version I’m on!
As a Lifetime Plex Pass holder, I have no choice but to hope future releases will improve the issues I’m having. Hasn’t even been a year since I “cut the cord”, already having problems!
