Different File structure for TV Shows (can it be configured?)

Hi !
I am future user of Plex (it was recomended to me by a friend), and I have a little problem with file structure… I have quite a lot of TV shows and my naming is different than proposed one from Plex…

Plex requires: \TV Shows\Sliders\Season 1\Sliders - s02e01 - Possible Title.mkv
I have: \TV Shows\Sliders\Sliders - Season 1\Sliders 2x01 - Possible Title.mkv

Is there a way to reconfigure Plex to use my format… I can rename “Sliders - Season 1” part, but I don’t really want to rename episodes them selves… I have quite a collection and I want to keep it in format like it is…

Andy

You would better off using filebot to rename your files as needed. Plex is forgiving to a point but only guarantees working with its defined structure.

No doubt about it.

An entire Plexiverse can be re-named and re-structured in an afternoon.

I’ll probably get flak for this but I say you will be fine here.

have you simply tried it and see if it will work ?

Instead of pointing Plex at your entire library, make a test library.

Copy one season of one show into a test directory (ex: \TV Shows Test\Sliders…), point Plex at it, and see what happens.

You’ll know rather quickly whether or not Plex can handle your naming structure.

Just be sure you make it identical in every way.
I would just copy one entire series(a small one w/few episodes per season)
