I’m using the latest versions of Windows and Synology NAS. These issues have always occurred and I can’t figure out why. The data are on two drives on the NAS and the Server reads the mounted drives on the Synology NAS and another instance of Plex runs on the NAS and uses the data on those drives.
I usually have 1 or 2 fewer titles listed on the Windows machine than the Synology NAS. In the past I was able to address this and I believe it may have been a misread duplicate (two different resolutions of the same movie) and then posted twice. But now it’s more difficult to do because of the second issue making comparisons difficult by spotting them scrolling .
Plex for Windows and Plex for Synology NAS using Linux can also provide different interpretations of the same dataset. In one instance I have movies with number such as 4 Colors: Purple on the NAS appear as Four Colors: Purple on the Windows machine.
Other weird stuff on both devices. If you sort by Title and then sort by Date Added, you get fewer titles, which doesn’t make sense as it should be the exact same number. Using the Windows machine it’s 5 less titles sorting by Date Added and 3 less videos on the Synology NAS.
I’m going to export a list each using Webtools but that can only possibly address the difference in number of movies versus each device. As to why sorting changes the total list of media items - which it should not - I cannot explain.
