Reposting this in hopes that it gains traction.
I only found a thread on Reddit about having different subtitles settings for live TV and Movie/TV content, and it was folks simply wanting the same thing as me. Short and sweet: I want subtitles to be on by default for Movie/TV content, and off for Live TV by default. What’s worse is that with FireTV, iOS, and Android I cannot turn subtitles on/off while watching live TV. If that was an option, I’d probably just let this go.
Anyone know of a workaround since in Settings->Languages->Subtitle mode is the only way I can control this global settings? I’d LOVE to have a preference breakdown by library type, or at least be able to turn off subs in the live stream on each device. In the app settings I can only change the way they render, not disable them.
