Subtitle settings per library

Hello, currently the only ways to control whether subtitles are on or off is done either globally in the settings, or on each individual video via remote control. I would like to have the ability to control a specific library to override the global settings. For instance, normally, since I have some hearing loss, I default plex to automatically turn subtitles on. This works great for movies and tv series. I have a specific library that I want to set the auto-playing of subtitles to off, and only enable them when necessary (training videos that run anywhere from 2-15 minutes). Typically if the audio is good, I can hear them fine, and the subtitles get in the way of the demonstration on the screen. So what I would like to see, is leave the global settings in place, but add an option to a library’s advanced settings, a checkbox to override the global subtitle settings, then be able to specify the settings for that specific library.

If not, can we at least have the ability to apply either “none” or “external srt” or whatever to an entire group of files instead of having to change each one individually?

thank you

There’s already an existing feature suggestion discussing the option to set a different language preference for tracks (audio/subtitles) per library. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Similarly there’s a suggestion to set the subtitle for an entire series (or subset) of episodes.

Unless I’ve missed some unique aspect of your suggestion I’m going to close this thread as a duplicate.

if you dont like it then delete it, because i cant seem to!
