Hi everyone,
Sorry I’m new to the forum, I’ve tried searching for my answer and can’t find it. I’m having a hard time connecting the HD Homerun Flex 4K I just got to my Plex server. The HD Homerun app on my NVidia Shield opens and works just fine. My Plex client on the Shield has stopped being able to play anything from my library directly so in the meantime I’ve been streaming from the client on my iPhone.
When I try to set up Plex DVR under settings via my laptop, it says that my plex media server doesn’t support setting up tuner devices. I tried to click the “upgrade server” button but it just keeps opening a new window and makes me log back on to my Plex server. So this is where I’m stuck and I don’t know how to update my plex server. There doesn’t seem to be an option under settings when I check my Nvidia shield. Any help would be appreciated.
Have you always had a Plex Pass or did you just get it to go with the tuner?
If you just got PP, then you will need to log out and back in using https://app.plex.tv or the Plex for Windows client.
There is a possibility that the database has some corruption. Check the directory to see if it has been backed up every three days. (Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support)

Some background, I’ve been having a problem with my Nvidia Plex client for months now. I’ve gone so far as deleting and creating a new server and uninstalling/reinstalling the plex client app on the shield. It still hasn’t resolved the issue. For the time being my plex clients on my laptop and phone continue to work so I feel like it’s specifically an issue with the Nvidia client.
If the database had some corruption, I imagine me having recreated the server from scratch should have resolved it if that was the issue but it didn’t do that. I don’t feel like doing that exercise if I’ve already rebuilt the server once already. Unless there is something I’m missing in my thought process.
I tried to update it through the play store (when I go to the play store, it doesn’t give me a version number but gives me the option to update). When I do click update, it downloads but on install it says that it can’t install it.
I then deleted the database file, went back to the playstore, and it was then able to update. I then went back into Plex, all my old folders were there, but then it was unable to access. I restarted my Nvidia and tried to go back. Same problem. Now, my old server is gone and the only thing I can see is my friend’s server that he gave me access too. I don’t know how to create a new server from here.
