Javelin S4
Does anyone know if the Patriot Javelin S4 DLNA Digital Media Server will support Plex? I have been looking for an NAS and with 4 bays that will hold a 3tb drive each it would be an inexpensive solution. Fry’s have them right now for $311 with a $100 rebate.
If you just want to use it as a large disk and run the Plex Media Server (PMS) on another computer, then yes it will work. If however you want to run the PMS on this as well, then that won't work. PMS requires an x86 type processor and this uses a PowerPC type processor.
Thank you for your quick reply. So if I keep PMS on my PC, just as it is now, and move all my movies to the Javelin for storage Plex will work as it is now. That is good news, thank you.
