Hi guys, just to let you know that as of the new Xbox preview update it seems that direct play no longer stutters at the start!!!
I get a little bit of stuttering on 1080p mkv / 5.1 ac3 movies, but it is a huge improvement. Only seems to happen at the very beginning and the d-pad trick fixes it. Before this update, it was unusable in direct-play.

what plex server version are you using?
I am using 9.15.2.1663 so I am curious because there has been no server updates since Jan 22 that I am aware of.

Xbox Preview Updates are for the Console not the Plex App. so he is talking about the preview program with beta updates to the dashboard/os on the Xbox itself.
Thanks for the clarification, wish I was on the preview program. also would be interested to get some other feedback if this truly helps
