I know there is a little time left for the public release but I wanted to know if you are in contact with MS regarding the stuttering of Direct Play MKV´s as it seems there is not really much happening there regarding a fix over at the official forums.
Hello All, Good news! I just received an update that the dev team has found the issue and implemented a fix. This issue should be corrected with the next update. Please submit feedback if you experience this after the next update, and please report on this thread as well.
I just got the update and can confirm everything is back working as it was. I still have the problem with dropped frames which comes and goes but that is a Microsoft problem they still haven’t fixed since day one.
I thought the update two days ago fixed it, but I just opened some 1080p mkv (h264 I think) movies with 5.1 AC3. I’m still having a stuttering issue on quite a few of them. D-Pad workaround will fix it for a couple of minutes and then run into the same issue. If I don’t hit the D-Pad, the screen will turn green and show some digital artifacts.
I’m showing 20+ download and 15+ upload on network connection tests (connected via WiFi to a gigabit service), so bandwidth is definitely there to support it. I did not have this issue until the NXOE update. A 1080p movie that played fine before will stutter on NXOE.
I’m seeing much improvement on newer builds of nxoe…along with the stuttering it woudn’t keep the play state when you left the app…that now works and in some ways works better than the previous os.
From my experience, the stuttering seems to have been fixed after testing a couple of files that were previously giving me issues. I hope it manages to fix up for the rest of you, either in this update, or a not-to-distant update!
