I am having the strangest issues with video playback on Android, FireTV, Web, etc. When the settings for quality playback are set to “Play original Quality” the output to these devices is Choppy beyond belief, however if “Convert Automatically” is checked then the video plays at the original quality just fine. When looking at how the video is being streamed, direct play is choppy but transcoding is smooth. This has never happened before and only began a few days ago. I have two servers running and both are experiencing the exact issues. One is a RPi4 used for streaming shows, while the other is an older laptop for movies. I usually stream to 3 or 4 devices (split between the two evenly) and have had 1080p quality with “Play Original Quality” work flawless, yet 720p movies now stutter at that setting but are fine transcoded. Does anyone know a fix for this issue? I have looked around and not found anything that has worked.
