When I play certain files on Plex for Samsung, I notice they often default to “Direct Stream - 11 Mbps” in the dashboard. However, when I enable “Force Direct Play,” they switch to “Direct Play - 7 Mbps,” except for some files where only the subtitles will show up as “Direct Stream.”
I then decided to test further, I forced Direct Play across the app and enabled “Disable Bitrate Limiting” in the settings. After testing various files, as far as I can tell, everything worked flawlessly without any buffering or quality issues!
Given this, I’m wondering if should I keep Force Direct Play and Disable Bitrate Limiting enabled all the time. Would there be any downsides to this change?
