Server Version#: v1.18.9.2578
Player Version#: latest version of Plex for Amazon Fire Stick (2nd Gen)
Hi Guys,
I’m looking for some assistance with an issue. I tried using the search bar for this but with me being new here and not knowing how to use the Forum yet, I’m not sure if I even searched correctly so I apologize in advance.
The issue I am having is that any file I try to play on my Fire Stick that has EAC3 5.1 audio, Plex Direct Streams it. Every file is MKV and H.264.
Looking at the tech specs for the Fire Stick, it shows that EAC3 5.1 is a supported audio format so I’m not really sure why this would be happening and obviously MKV H.264 is supported.
I’m going to work on posting my logs once I check on how to format them properly on here but I hope that’s a good summary for now ![]()
EDIT:
Here are some interesting tidbits from the logs that I am seeing. They don’t make much sense to me but hoping this helps someone. I also thought I should mention, my player settings on the Fire Stick are set to Max everything. New Video Player currently disabled but even with New Video Player enabled, Plex tries to Direct Stream
