Is there a way to disable Plex automatically merging files? I have 4K and 1080P files all in the same library to make it as clean as possible, however I have 4K items hidden from external users via a sharing label. I have this Tautulli script working beautifully to automatically apply a label to recently added 4K material. The only problem is if I add a 4K rip of something I already have a 1080P rip of, the items get merged, when I wish to keep them split, in order to apply the label only to the 4K version. Any ideas?
There isn’t a way to turn off the automatic merging. Sorry.
Is there a suggestion portal or area of the forums where features can be suggested? I think this would be a great feature that would coexist alongside features such as toggling automatic trash removals.
There is and what you’re asking for has already been suggested (though the suggestion hasn’t gained much attention/interest).
Damn, I already submitted my request. I’ll copy the text and reply the one you linked, and vote for it too. But I agree, not much traction. I don’t want to have to go the split-library route that everyone seems to suggest.
