I am on a metered connection temporarily, and I do not need my guide data refreshed every 24 hours anyway. There should be an option under scheduled tasks for, refresh guide data, so I can disable it. Period! Maybe this is okay for Mac and Windows users, but not for me, now I’ll have to transition back to MythTV.
That’s already unchecked, yet it performs a refresh every day.
I even set it to 10:00 A.M. and blocked the server from the internet between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., because I don’t have any recordings scheduled at those times, but as soon as it goes back online, it starts a refresh.
Thanks for the report!
This appears to be a bug. I will file it as such.
Thank you. I’m sorry about expressing my frustration, but I don’t do well with GUIs, it always seems like hunting for buried check boxes. I wish everything could be done with shell, vim, and cron, except for watching Plex videos of course.
I am told that EPG is refreshed upon start of PMS, if it hasn’t been refreshed within the last 24 hours.
Which means if you let it run continuously, it should download the EPG just once.
