Disable "Plex Movie" Agent

ofcourse there is another update that ■■■■■ up working stuff.
How can i disable Plex Movie Agent and get the old ones back?
Trying to add “Kingsman” Movies(Movies from 2014 & 2017) into my library but Plex Movie Agent ofcourse can not find any match and i cant choose any other Agent.

They might be getting matched as a duplicate. How are the movies named?

Generally, the date in parenthesis is enough but with similarly named sequels it’s not a bad idea to use the imdb id

Kingsman The Secret Service (2014) {imdb-tt2802144}.mkv
Kingsman The Golden Circle (2017) {imdb-tt4649466}.mkv
The King’s Man (2021) {imdb-tt6856242}.mkv

why cant i manually match them then with Plex Movie? Even if i only search for “Kingsman” without other search terms it cant find any match to that name.

When you fix match it does it give no results at all, or just not the correct ones?

If nothing shows up in the window at all, maybe you’ve got some kind of bug. It’s working for me, but I’m not on the latest version

Edit: Have you reboot your server or machine since upgrading the library?

Or something about your setup blocking the server from looking up the data from Plex’ backend.

But as per JaysPlex7 question… do you get no matches at all or are you only failing to get one for the title “Kingsman”?

rebooted once after plex update and now rebooted again.
yeah you guys be right i guess, i logged in via plex.tv instead of the nas directly and i could match it even automatically, weird stuff.

not sure if it was the second reboot or the loggin in via plex.tv

You can also use the IMDB ID, instead of the name, when matching.

For example, enter tt2802144 for Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Dunno if this is helpful, but I’m still using legacy agents because back when I tried switching to the ‘new’ agents (I guess a couple years ago), they failed to make any matches. At the time the console reported this as being due to double NAT - this is real, my ISP uses CGNAT* - with the new agents being useless to me since they completely failed to connect at all, I reverted back. And since the whole thing ended up messing up a lot of my previous matches I’ve been very reluctant to try again!

*(I’m aware of solutions around this, I just haven’t been motivated enough to bother as it’s been a long time since I’ve had much need for remote access)

You don’t need remote access to use any of the agents — that’s more about connecting from a Plex client to your server while you’re outside your home network.

With the agents it’s more about some firewalls/security tools/content blockers preventing the server from sending metadata requests to Plex‘ backend (or the respective response).

I know I don’t need remote access. I was just saying that at the time, the plex console reported a double nat error when attempting to make matches. This was on my local network.
