How do i remove the annoying and obnoxiously large Review feature? Absolutely a waste of screen space IMHO-
Thanks in advance
I cannot disable it completely… you can only pick which ratings you prefer (IMDB vs. Rotten Tomatoes vs. The Movie Database).
Library Settings: Advanced > Ratings Source
If you’re talking about Plex Web’s list view – there you can configure which columns to be displayed per record (and therefore remove the critics rating from being displayed). That being said… this only goes for the list view itself, you cannot remove them from the movie pre-play screen.
I think he is referring to the critic reviews that appear on the ATV 4K and NVidia Shield and maybe others, rather than the ratings.
@tlagrassa
Beyond getting a client device that doesn’t have them you can’t as far as I’m aware.
There is no Ratings Source option available - Thanks anyway
Yes, ATV 4K. And no matter which agent I choose, Rotten is shown- Even after deleting the library, doing the dance then recreating new library. There should be a simple way to disable rating, unlike the convoluted way Plex handles seemly simple things.
OK, this is a new f***ing feature I am sick of already. Has anyone figured out how to get rid of this crap off my library?
Well, you could suggest a feature request to make it optional.
Beyond that you can’t.
However, you haven’t even said what client you are using?
Fair enough. Roku and sure, I will request a feature to remove it as it is something I do not want, and something that I am not the only one who doesn’t want it. I bought the movies, I ripped the movies, I know if I like them without some 3rd party tool telling me what some unknown jackwagon thinks about my movies.
You will probably have far more success asking for it to be optional than removed.
Submitted to request enable/disable option for the Roku app. However, just like my thread that I had started about Plex Alternatives that even Elan participated in, this is another example of why I left Plex and went to Emby, silly decisions are made that impact personal library owners because some corporate initiatives that are then forced onto people who paid their money for a lifetime pass and now regret it. I only came back recently to see what has changed, if anything, and my family seeing some 3rd party opinions are not what we want being forced on our screen. I scoured the advanced settings, I tried other people’s thoughts, I wiped my library and scanned it all in again, alas, some random jackwagons (3 of them per movie) telling me what they think about 1941. I friggin know what WE think, I don’t care what they think.
Anyway, as I said, I submitted it and will probably just go back to Emby.
Thank you for posting this - I HATE seeing the reviews when I pull up a movie to watch it. It ruins the experience and should be a feature that can be turned off. I want to see my library, my films, not all this commercial garbage from various websites.
Again, Plex doesn’t understand it’s user base and tries to be like Netflix. I don’t want reviews, I don’t want recommendations, I don’t want Netflix. I want to play and organize my collection, without your “help”.
I placed a post over here: Remove Obnoxious Review data in plex on the forum.
A small and easy workaround to remove the screaming data from the Plex browser.
Ideally Plex could create an option to enable/disable this by default, but this would be too easy…
Very nice. I run linux so it would be even easier for me with a 3 line script.
Sadly, eff Plex in the A. I got tired of them doing stuff that I have no say with. I hope they get diluted and fizzle.
