I am consistently running the latest Public PMS Server (right now 1.18.6.2368)
I do not want any users of my Roku to be able to stream (or even access) the New
Plex “Movie & TV” streaming service.
The Plex Support page for VOD (Video On Demand) indicates that on my “Online Media Sources” page I should find the Option for “Movies & TV” but tht choice is NOT listed.
Only choices I can configure in this order are (and I am a Plex pass subscriber)
“WEB SHOWS” “NEWS” “PODCASTS” “TIDAL”
Although the choice for “Movies & TV” is NOT pinned in the Roku app users can still get there by clicking on the “More +” choice at the bottom of the pinned choices. All users (including the Guest user) can do this.
Our goal is to ensure that ALL users can ONLY have access to the media on my server and NOT stream over the web.
Grateful for any guidance or items I should look at or test.
It is newer than the embedded one included with the server. If you’re running a PMS version earlier than 1.18.6.2348 its embedded web app won’t have the option.
Thank you. THat is what I was expecting to happen but for some reason the “MOVIES & TV” option was not listed. I checked and refreshed a few times. THis morning that listing did appear.
Is it possible that there is some service on plex.tv that the PMS needs to get to/see for it to be listed? I can’t think of any other reason that it would suddenly appear (I was already running the latest PMS). But glad it works as you and the manual describe.
Great idea of yours as a test in the future to try online app.
The “MOVIES & TV” option has suddenly appeared in my settings today. It looks to be working as the manual described.
