Disabling posters/setting poster for all items in a library

I have a library for sports games that I have downloaded; the auto-generated posters will _always_ contain spoilers because scores are on-screen. Is there any way that I can either disable posters or set a stock poster for all of these items?

I don't mind monkeying around on my server if necessary; I'm technically proficient. :)

You could try creating the library and point it ti the correct folder, but leave the folder blank for now.  Add in your files, then manually update the library using the command line.

There is an option to not create the thumbnail.

I had the same issue. You can side load your artwork in the directory to address this. Basically when you add the video file, create an image to with the same name as the video with a JPG extension. This will override the poster and background art work.

I wrote for my Mac to replace the artwork in the cache created by Plex scanning and also place the image in the folder where my Sports videos are stored. It will dynamically find your sports section assuming its labeled Sports. My is created as home media. It allows you to specify the time in seconds into the video that the poster/background image will created. Its a somewhat crude script, but it works.

I use Tablo for over the air recording and Tablo2Go script to pull all content into Plex. So I already have ffmeg on the boxYou. You will need to set the path in the script to your ffmeg binay, log file and Plex Media Scanner and thumbnail path.

I hope this helps others.
