In the last few months I have noted a very frustrating issue with album art. I have 2.3TB of music on my server, and tons of random music album art images have reverted to either black squares or the album artist’s picture. The really weird thing is that if I manually edit the album, the art is there in the “Poster” section… actually many many options for it. “Refreshing Metadata” does nothing, “Match” usually finds nothing and if there is a match does nothing to change it… I should note that no album goes into my collection wiothout meticulously tagged info and embedded artwork. I have spent literally years making sure that all my music is properly identified for other previous players. I have the system set to take metadata over anything else but that seems to not work. Did something drastically change recently? I hate the thought of manually changing thousands of albums.

Frustrating for sure. Perhaps have a look at - Settings > Scheduled Tasks > UNCHECK “Refresh local metadata every three days” and “Refresh library metadata periodically”. If you “unmatch”, does your embedded art return?
