Disappearing Extras

The Apartment:
You have items in that folder that are NOT Extras and are NOT the Movie.

The Awful Truth:
You have items in there that are named ‘like’ a movie, but have an Extra Tag. Let’s try not to confuse Plex if we can prevent it.

1. the only things that can go in that folder are The Movie and The Extras and The Subs. That’s it.

2. If you want these Extras to work you MUST start with a fresh bundle. That means before you add a Folder with the Movie and The Extras you’d better remove all other Versions and Clean Bundles before you add anything back to the server - to make sure there are no other bundles belonging to that Movie. Extras work for ONE Movie, The First Time you add it. If you’re adding a Movie for the SECOND time you better make sure Plex thinks it’s the Virgin Voyage for that Movie or this stuff simply won’t work.

3. You can work with Versions, providing you place an original Version with Extras FIRST. Detailed explanation in the link provided above and below. You can ONLY have one Version of a Movie with Extras, meaning after placing the First Movie with Extras, any other version can NOT have Extras. If you want to add more Extras to a ‘Set’ of Movies - Start Over.

4. Normally if I am ‘upgrading’ an item I will just name it the same and replace the item by copying right on top of it - then analyzing when done (just to make sure). IF I’m upgrading a Movie that has Extras, the original version is REMOVED from the server, the trash is emptied and the bundles are cleaned before adding it’s upgrade and Extras back to the server.
