Apologies if this is already a request, but I could not find it in search. I love the Discovery Radio feature that plays tracks from artists on Tidal that you don’t have in your local media library. However, it would be great if a similar discovery radio existed that presented tracks on Tidal that you don’t have in your media library from artists that you DO have in your media library. That’s it. It’s a simple feature request.
Would you mind sharing what Discovery Radio does?
I’m not using Tidal and don’t seem to have that feature in my own setup (at least not in Plexamp or Plex Web) – so I’m not actually sure what your suggestion is about ![]()
From the Plex blog:
Discovery Radio: The Plex media server knows you, because it knows your library. It knows what music you’ve been listening to, so it can build a special playlist just for you which contains artists that are not already in your library, so you can discover new gems. It does not know if you’ve been naughty or nice.
Thanks!
From what I understand you should be able to achieve that with the radios/stations/mixes in Plexamp (depending on the degrees of separation option)
Not really, the thing that separates Discovery Radio from the others is that it works off of your entire music collection to provide songs from artists that are similar to what’s in your collection. Artist and Album Radios or even Sonic Adventures rely on you to pick something specific for the radio to riff off of. I want something the does the same thing as Discovery, but for artists IN your collection with tracks you don’t have. Honestly, the ultimate radio experience would be altering Library Radio so that it not only played the items in your media collection, but also would pepper in similar artists you don’t have and tracks you don’t have from artists you do. But that’s a whole other request in and of itself.
