Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems that external tracks used within artist radio only come from artists that are not in your music library. For example, if a play radio from The Gaslight Anthem, I have several albums, but PlexAmp (maybe Plex in general) won’t use tracks from Tidal albums for the Gaslight anthem that I don’t already have or have manually added. It’s the same for any other matched artist, if they are in my library plex will only use those tracks. I understand I could go through all my artists (and there are lots) and add the latest albums, but that could be prone to error and would have to be done regularly. Would it be possible to add those tracks into the radio stations, or at perhaps automatically add albums to plex for all artists that exist, so we don’t miss out on new stuff from our favourite bands?
Correct! Astute observation.
We definitely want to keep people updated about new releases. We do that now by:
- The NEW RELEASES ON TIDAL hub on the home screen.
- Showing you missing albums on each artist page.
I’ve always thought it would be cool to perhaps use the data from (2) to give you a little indicator about new releases you’re missing, e.g. in the RELATED tab of the player, or somewhere else more obvious.
Back to the original question about stations—it would be conceivable to add tracks from newer/missing releases into stations, I’ll put that on the list for us to consider on the server.
