Server Version#:1.21.0.3616
I have around 2TB of movies, TV shows, Documentaries etc. I have noticed recently that if I add media to the library by directly copying it from one disk to another either some directories or the whole disk becomes corrupted and I have to restore the data from backup, if I fix it then add new media the drive will be corrupt again, thanks in advance.
Sounds like a problem with your operating system, not Plex.
At a minimum, check your drives for errors.
In Windows Explorer, right click on the drive, choose Properties, Tools, Error Checking.
You can also run chkdsk from the command line.
I understand from other posts that there’s no reason why Plex would corrupt the hard drive however do you have any more info about OS issues that could cause this? I will run chkdisk as advised perhaps before and after adding media (with plex media server not running) and let you know how it goes
