Display file name, not metadata. Remove all metadata

I discovered that PMS does not display the video file name. Instead, it reads the information of the video file properties, under “Details”. If I’m not wrong these are metadata.

  • How can I force PMS to read/display the actual file name of the video?
  • Can plex remove the metadata from all my video files?

Thanks

I think you have to edit it manually from plex or from the file, maybe is better way edit from the file

Some more information is needed about what you’re trying to accomplish please.

Are you wanting to display the file name for movies or television series or is this for Home/Other videos?

If I could do it for all files it would be great.

Essentially you’re asking how to turn off all the metadata and poster features of PMS?

Set up your Personal Media Agent like so. Make sure local media assets is at the bottom (should not matter if off/on, but needs to be on to find external subtitles)

When you create an “Other Videos” library make sure Plex Video files scanner and Personal media agent is selected

When it scans in the titles will be the filename (minus the extension).
