Display Mode: Zoom Cuts Subtitles

Server Version#: 1.42.2.10156
Player Version#: 2026.0.1 (1523)

After Plex on iOS (iPhone 17 Pro Max iOS 26.2) updated to the latest player version, I noticed the subtitles weren’t being displayed correctly in the Zoom Display Mode. Prior to the update, the subtitles appeared correctly in the Zoom Display Mode. After the update, the Zoom Display Mode cuts off the subtitles (Letterbox works like usual). The issue occurs for all English (SRT) subtitles, however, English (PGS) works in Zoom Display mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am experiencing the same issue, tried switching to different subtitles and burn subtitles but it didn’t work for me :frowning:

i am experiencing the same issue.

Every time a subtitle feature update on ios, subtitle issues persist when zoomed in. |
I’d like to see this issue tested before updating.

I had requested this before for the same issue, and it was fixed, but the problem occurred again.

When setting the stretch mode in the IOS Plex app, the bottom part of the subtitles is cut off - Plex Players / Mobile Devices - Plex Forum

Subtitles still move when the media is zoomed in.

It really is kind of annoying

Since the recent updates, using “Zoom” mode completely breaks the subtitles, pushing them off-screen. It seems there is a critical flaw in the player’s rendering pipeline. Instead of applying subtitles as a post-processing overlay after the zoom is calculated, the app appears to be rendering the subtitles onto the frame before zooming. Consequently, the text gets magnified and cropped out of the visible area.
