DLNA/Medialink showing all episodes when selecting "Unwatched"

Guys, I don’t know if this is only happening on latest releases, but ever since I formatted my machine and installed latest version, there is some weird behaviour regarding “Unwatched” lists on DLNA and Medialink. I’ll try to be brief.

When I go to a show “Unwatched” list, Plex shows all episodes, unless I watched ALL the entire season, then it stops showing that season.

It used to hide individually the shows I’ve watched, like suppose a show has 7 episodes, and I watched 5 of them, whenever I used the “Unwatched” list, it used to show me only the 2 remaining. Now it lists all 7, and when I watch all them, it hides the season (or the show, if I watched all seasons).

Considerations:

  1. On Web interface and Android, it shows just fine the unwatched episodes.
  2. Problem happens on DLNA Client (VLC for Android, LG TV DLNA) and LG Medialink.
  3. Once the season has been marked as watched, it wont show anymore.
  4. If theres any unwatched episode on a season, it will show the entire season (wrong behavior)

Can someone help?

1.2.2 bugged
1.1.4 bugged
1.1.3 bugged
1.0.3 working

This has been raised and awaiting someone to provide server logs showing the issue (See http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1277102/#Comment_1277102)

See https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200250417-Plex-Media-Server-Log-Files
Please ensure Debug Logging is enabled on the server - see
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201643703-Reporting-issues-with-Plex-Media-Server

All right, as soon as I get home I’ll do it.

There you go.

  • Clean install of 1.2.2

  • Named server TestServer

  • Enabled verbose logging

  • Added 192.168.1.0/24 in Networks that are allowed without auth

  • Added a library called “TestLibrary” with one directory “/mnt/Midia/Series/Westworld” which has 2 episodes

  • Marked episode 1 as watched (on Plex Web using Chrome)

  • Checked on Nexus 5x (Plex Android) and episode 1 is watched. Episode 2 unwatched.

  • Fired up VLC (same Nexus 5X) to access Plex DLNA Server, but nothing showed on “Video”.

  • Tried to add network 192.168.1.0/24 on LAN Networks too.

  • Fired up VLC again, nothing.

  • Stopped plexmediaserver and restarted it.

  • Fired up VLC again, this time it showed the library I created named TestLibrary

  • Navigated to Video > TestLibrary > Unwatched > Westworld

  • Result: Both videos (eps 1 and 2) show as unwatched, even though Plex Web shows ep. 1 as watched since I marked it as watched.

  • Stopped plexmediaserver and restart it.

  • Started MediaLink on my 2012 LG TV (non WebOs)

  • Chose TestLibrary, then applied the Unwatched filter, nagivated to Westworld.

  • Result: Same, both videos (ep 1 and2) show as unwatched, even though ep. 1 is marked as watched.

Logs attached.

No, thank you! I’ll be sticking with 1.0.3 while this is addressed. Thanks a lot!
