Do i need to Upgrade my Libraries?

and if i did will this Remove all of my Custom Posters Titles and Summary ?
and what if i don’t upgrade ?

You don’t HAVE to – at least for now.
Given the legacy agents are no longer maintained, you’ll likely run into trouble with those sooner or later. At some point they’ll likely be removed for good.

Your custom edits should not be touched during the migration.
There might be some hiccups if you had matched different tv-shows with different agents in order to use their respective episode ordering or deviating metadata languages. The new Plex TV Series agent can handle this as part of editing the show itself (:pencil2: > Advanced).

If you want to “preview” the new agents and how they interact with your media:

  1. create a new library (with that agent)
  2. point it to the same media folder used in your current library

Can i upgrade my Libraries but tell Plex Not to refresh my metadata ?
if yes
How ? and is this OK ?

Also… why not just 1) backup your plex server and then 2) upgrade your libraries.

If all you goes well then happy days. If not and your really unhappy just restore your backup and you’ll be back to what you have now.

I done this (a lot) when I was testing the new agent during alpha before switching over to it when I was ready.

how to do a backup ?

BTW… Always ensure plex is not running when taking or restoring backups.

No. Because the switch is not actually excuted until you refresh the metadata.
Until you do this, newly added versions of existing movies will get recognized as separate items, instead of “duplicates”.
There might be other side effects as well.
