After working for over a year on my ps4, plex server suddenly decides to stop working. It says my server and my device are on 2 different subnets. They are NOT, they are the same and always have been. The IPs are the same, and so is everything else. Ever since the most recent server update, things have gone wrong. I see the device on my server list on the web client, and my ps4 recognizes it too. But as soon as I try and open the app, get the stupid subnet error. None of the advice in the community has helped, and neither has any of the advice on the /noserver help section. There is no firewall blocking anything, no antivirus settings that have been changed in any way, it’s just flat out broken. Seeing as so many people have had issues since the last update, this seems like an issue foe Plex, not me. Is Plex going to release a statement, an apology, or an updated media server to replace this one?
We are aware of the subnet issue, it was actually fixed late last cycle but didn’t actually make it out for the 2.7.11 release. It should be in our next release.
Keep in mind, the issue was a messaging bug, the fact that your PS4 can’t connect to the server will not change however we won’t show the wrong error message about devices being on different subnets anymore.
I also get this message on PS4 and dont know how to solve this. Hm this is getting really frustrating. Plex developers should really look into it or get some refunds.
