I am using the older Plex app on iOS and I manage home users.
Since I have restrictions for my teen daughter she was unable to see a movie which does not have a rating in the movie (i.e. it says “Not Rated”), even though it is appropriate for her and we were watching it as a family…it is likely that it was never rated in IMDB.
I decided to grant her access to the movie in case she wanted to watch it again via the menu item “Grant Access” and selected her account. However, I do not see anything, neither the movie or notification that something has been granted to her, when I log into her profile.
The only thing I did see was when I went into the server with my account via the desktop > Plex Home > selected my daughters account > Media did I see the movie there under “ has access to”.
I searched the Plex forums and did find this older post…
However, there is nothing there when I go in via her account even via the desktop so that she could accept this.
Is this feature still working? I am likely missing something but I am not sure what?
I know I can go in and update the ratings, which is likely what I will do, to resolve this but this seems like a convenient feature to have.
Hopefully someone here has some insight into this ![]()
Note: I am testing the new Plex app via an older iPad via test flight and I also have the same issue there…though with that app it does not even show Grant Access in the menu…so perhaps the option in the old app just doesn’t work but was only removed in the new app to clean up the code?
