Unable to view shared single item(s)

I have a Family Movies library setup for titles that I do not put any restrictions on. My 10 year old has her own Plex ID with access to this library. All is good.

Now, I want to share selected titles with her from my general Movies library without giving access to this entire library (even with restrictions). I have tried the Grant Access method and the Labels method, but neither has worked to give her the ability to see these additional titles.

I do have restrictions setup on her account to allow only G, PG and PG-13. All of the movies I am trying to share are within this list.

Any suggestions of what I may be missing here?

Thanks for the quick response. It was very informative and helpful.

That being said, I neglected to mention that my daughter’s account was originally setup as an external one. I’m not 100% certain, but it appears that may have been the reason that I was unable to simply Grant Access to specific movies from other libraries that she doesn’t already have access to. I was able to perform the Grant Access step, but when I went to her account, the shared titles were not available.

Instead, I took a few steps to add her to my Plex Home and now Grant Access works exactly as I hoped it would!
